Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) Articulation

Certified Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLT) may be eligible to complete the Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science (BS in MLS) online.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the online MLT-MLS articulation, prospective students must meet the following criteria:

• Successfully completed an associate-level, accredited MLT program.

• Currently certified as an MLT by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).

• Employed in a medical laboratory as an MLT for at least one year.

  • A minimum of one year of professional experience must be achieved before beginning the online clinical practicum courses, which are completed in the final year of the program.

    • At least one year of professional MLT experience must have occurred within the past three years.

Prospective students who do not meet criteria for the online MLT-MLS articulation must pursue the BS in MLS degree via an on-ground degree option.
