Public Leadership Minor

This minor prepares students for leadership roles that promote the betterment of society while embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion. Students will develop competencies in cultural awareness, ethical and inclusive decision-making, strategic planning, civic engagement, and communication. Students will learn about different types of leadership, participate in leadership skill-building exercise, and prepare a portfolio to document their leadership goals, activities, and reflections. The minor is open to all majors.

Goals: 

  • Teach students leadership concepts, theories, models, and current leadership issues.
  • Prepare students for leadership positions that promote public service. 

To earn a minor in Public Leadership, students must complete a minimum of 15 semester hours of coursework.
